Irene Fong MBA, CPA, Partner
Irene graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelors in Mathematics and continued on at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business to receive her Masters with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. She began her career at Price Waterhouse & Company (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) as an auditor before striking out on her own in 1984 to become a sole proprietor of her own CPA firm. Though she enjoyed the autonomy of being a small business owner, Irene missed the collaboration that accompanies being part of a team, so in 2008 she joined CMC where she could be part of an organization of professionals with the same dedication to client service and quality work as she has always had. Since then, Irene has played an instrumental part in growing and developing our team and delivering outstanding client service with a keen attention to detail.
In addition to her work with CMC, Irene is an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University in the Accounting Program where she teaches taxation to undergraduate and graduate students. She is a member of the California Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs and the National Association of Tax Professionals.
When she is not wearing her CPA hat, you are likely to find Irene running on one of the many beautiful trails in the Bay Area. She is a dedicated distance runner who has completed a good number of marathons. Irene is also a committed volunteer in her community and has served on the board of Grace Project, Our Race.org, IFG.org and in her local community churches.
Irene speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese as well as English.
